ACT, (Amwell Consultancy & Training Ltd.), has a reputation for delivering effective training solutions in a variety of areas. Our Lead Trainer is Keith R Stevens, who is an experienced and qualified Trainer and Facilitator and has worked in both the public and private sectors.
Education
ACT offers training courses to support the Government
agenda of the raising of Standards in Education. In particular, ACT
works closely with schools to develop their approach to performance management.
Training is offered to schools in developing performance management systems,
including guidance on pay progression. Courses and INSET are available
for staff and Governors.
Topics offered include: performance management, developing the School
Improvement Plan, Team Leader Training, pre-Inspection preparation and
post-Inspection strategy.

ACT offers a facilitation service to organisations. This enables organisations to benefit from having an external stimulus to aid their thinking and to focus their attention. This is particularly useful when developing new services and taking a strategic overview of services. We aim to challenge existing pre-conceived ideas and prejudices.

Leisure and Tourism
ACT is able to offer a wide range of training opportunities in the Leisure and Tourism field including: customer care, recruitment and selection, strategic planning and action planning. Training sessions on alternative ways of delivering council services can also be provided.

Libraries
Libraries have been the subject of massive change in recent years and significant investment has been provided by both Central and Local Government to develop services, particularly in the light of The People's Network. ACT offers a range of training courses to support the recent changes in libraries and information services. These include: lifelong learning, social inclusion, service development, performance reviews, Library Planning, preparing for Strategic Reviews and Best Value.

Performance Management
ACT works closely with both CfBT and CEA in the delivery of performance management to schools. Keith Stevens was Lead Trainer for the DfES in Performance Management and was an Accredited External Adviser, Threshold Assessor and Performance Management Consultant. A range of courses about the setting up of performance management and its development in schools can be offered
